Properties files

Most of settings in HDVM is controller by properties files. These are located \DeviceManager\HiCommandServer\config or ,on Solaris/Linux in /opt/HiCommand/HiCommandServer/config. As of version 6 and higher there are 14 files which control the HDVM server besides the settings configured in HDVM itself.

client.properties Controls the HDVM webclient
customizedsnmptrap.properties Controls the customized SNMP output
database.properties Controls how the HDVM server interacts with the database
dispatcher.properties The dispatcher properties files controls internal back-end processes which happen on the host which runs HDVM
DvMReport.properties Configures the output directory for HDVM detailed reports
host.properties Configures the timeoutvalue for mainframe agents
jserver.properties J WBEM Server Configuration File
launchapp.properties Controls the link & launch configurations for external application such as SNM and HSSM
logger.properties Controls logfile configuration
mime.properties HDVM supported MIME type
security.properties Device Manager Server Security Configuration File
server.properties Device Manager Server HTTP Server Configuration File
servlet.properties Device Manager Server Servlet Engine Configuration File
simulation.properties Device Manager Server Simulation Configuration File

mail-alert-detection.txt Configures the alert template used by HDVM when sending out emails
Most of the settings are fairly common and should not be modified especially the properties files which handle the internals. Some settings however could be adjusted when needed. See the pages which touch the separate properties files.
